choice would be, place your bets on data that you gather about the other horses in the race and then your betting decision will have some facts to back it up. There are a few things that you
should take into account when betting on a certain horse in a specific horse race.
1) Weather plays an important part in horse racing, some horses hate to run in the rain a place poorly in races. While others charge right to the finish line. Still other horses like sunny or cloudy days so check their history on how they fared according to the weather. There is a reason this occurs and it is a proven fact only the horse knows.
2) The age of horses have very little to do with their success in horse racing. People think that as the horse season comes closer and closer to the end, older horses will be slower a win less races then say three year old horses. Not the case, rather than the age of the horse but the number of times a horse races. If the horse has logged a lot of races that may indicate that the horse has overdone it and raced too much.
3) One of the myths of horse racing is the weight of the jockey and how it affects the speed of the horse. This is no statistics to base any conclusions on this myth. The jockey's talent and
experience are the reasons why a horse will win or lose. Besides most jockeys weigh roughly the same.
4) The weight of horses can affect races, horses who weigh heavier can bet lighter horses is some races. For instance colts and fillies, in long races where a colt weighs more than a filly
will have more success.
5) Another myth in horse racing is new blinkers on horses make them run faster. Do not believe that!
6) The pedigree of horses play an important part. Information is the key and the more you obtain on the horses the better your betting decisions will be. The Internet, bookstores and libraries have all kinds of information on certain horses. One horse tip is a filly needs more of pedigree then a colt does to run fast. If your betting at lower class racing the pedigree is not that important because that is where most of the weak pedigree tend to win.
7) Do not underestimate the female jockeys in horse racing when your make your betting decision, its all about the talent, ability and experience of these female jockeys.
